Aerowelding News

February 26th, 2019.

The last weekend of Summer has happened, yet the first weekend of Autumn in Melbourne is going to be 40 degrees! If you live in Melbourne it’s hard to explain our weather and also hard to predict when it’s going to be good to fly! Keeping your aircraft sky ready all year round is your safest bet for some good flying.

February 5th, 2019.

Did you know that we repair and manufacture many different types of aircraft exhaust systems, along with many other components. Check out our Gallery tab for pictures of our work.

January 29th, 2019.

What a break. We had a ball. Susan and Warren travelled by car all the way to Perth and back via the Nullarbor. Kyle spent time ‘up the bush’ while Shannon spent time with her young family in Rye and a camping trip at Heyfield. Now we’re all back to reality, open for business and welding away.

December 18th, 2018

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at AWS.  We have a big week planned, finishing jobs, tidying up and getting organised for a nice break.

We’re finishing up in 3 days and will return mid-January 2019.

November 20th, 2018.

Big things are happening before Christmas and into 2019. We are getting ready to end this year with so much gratitude and return in 2019 with greater purpose. Looking forward for a powerful end of year.

Tuesday 13th, November 2018.

6 weeks until Christmas and holidays. Who is ready to fly away?

October 16th, 2018.

Melbourne you were amazing yesterday and today you are gloomy. Who else doesn’t mind flying in the rain? We find that more customers come to us this time of year with repairs to ensure that their aircraft are up and running for the amazing weather Melbourne brings us in Summer.

August 21st, 2018

It’s birthday week here at AWS with Susan on the 20th and Shannon on the 24th. Drop by and say HB this week and drop off those jobs to ensure your planes are up, up and away for Spring.

July 17th, 2018.

We’re officially past the middle of Winter and Spring is almost on our doorstep.  Good flying weather is coming 🙂

July 10th, 2018.

School holidays are fun! Who wants to take my kids for a Joy Flight? My kids love flying and anything aircraft, lucky for them we work on Moorabbin Airport where the planes are in abundance! Luckily to they are in fine working order (especially the exhaust systems!) so I’d happily send my kids up, up and away.

June 26th, 2018.

Good winter morning. Stay warm and dry this wet season. Thankfully we are past the ‘shortest day’ and the weather is set to improve and ‘warm up’. Spring will be upon us before we know it and so will the beautiful flying weather.

June 12th, 2018.

The team at AWS wish to send our deepest condolences to the family and work mates of Anthony. The LAME and Pilot of CAE died on Friday in a horrible plane crash in Mordialloc. Anthony was a lovely man and his death has deeply saddened our small airport community.

Winter has arrived. I, for one, am glad our office is heated! The fog on the roads this morning was thick so I can only imagine what it was like up higher. Please remember we can fix or make all your aircraft parts to ensure safety while up in the air.

May 29th, 2018.

Holidays are over! After enjoying some time out in warm Bali, it’s all systems go back in the office (and I am thankful for a heater). Flying holidays are so much fun and I am thankful for aircraft maintenance to have travelled safely. Keep up your routine maintenance everyone.

May 8th, 2018

Good morning on this frosty morning. Carby’s on, the last thing you need is ice! With 3 weeks left of Autumn these mornings will only get frostier so be mindful of giving your aircraft a once over and a service and get any holes or cracks welded.

May 1st, 2018.

Happy May. I know it isn’t Winter just yet but it felt like it this morning. Very glad our office is heated and the welding bays are always warm with work. Have a wonderful day.

April 24th, 2018.

Office reno’s. Think I’d prefer to be sweeping the workshop! Shelving being installed and stuff everywhere. Good thing the welding isn’t impaired and our jobs are flowing out the door as usual. Happy Tuesday.

April 17th, 2018.

Welcome to Winter. Well it feels that way anyway! As usual we’re busy here at AWS so make sure those important jobs are not left until the last minute. Call or email for any enquiries and for approx. time on job turnaround.

We trade as normal until lunchtime Friday December 22nd and resume back as normal hours on Wednesday January 17th, 2018.

December 5th, 2017.

Summer is here! Time to fly! I luckily got to spend the past 2 weeks in Noosa enjoying “Summer” and the beach life. Flying up there on a big plane I reflected on all the times I have flown in little planes. Personally I found smaller planes WAY less turbulent and WAY more fun… so ensure your plane is Christmas ready for fun times and great memories.

November 21st, 2017.

Working hard here in the warm weather – Summer is almost upon us. Please remember to get any jobs to us before we close on December 22nd and to allow us time during this busy period to assist you.

November 14th, 2017.

With Cup Day in Melbourne last week we were all on holiday! AWS was closed for a well deserved day off and time down the beach! Back to business as usual now and no more holidays until we close for Christmas on December 22nd. REMINDER with less than 6 weeks until Christmas, please ensure you do not leave urgent jobs until the last minute as we get quite busy in December…

HAPPY HALLOWEEN… Don’t let anything spooky happen to your Aircraft Parts! Make sure any cracks are welded or parts repaired by contacting us ASAP.

October 24th, 2017.

Xmas Welder

Tuesday October 3rd, 2017.

Happy October everyone. Did you realise its only 12 weeks until Christmas? Who has holiday plans that involve aircraft? If you need any repairs or new products made up please call us sooner rather than later so we can ensure that your job is done and you’re not stranded on the runway on December 25th!!

Tuesday 26th September, 2017.

What is with this cold weather? Where is spring? The office here at AWS is cold and the heater works too efficiently and we all get too hot! Airport problems 101! I guess we all have to keep warm by working harder and getting these jobs out and keep planes flying. Good thing we have a great team here at AWS who work hard.

Please remember to check out our facebook page too.

Tuesday September 12th, 2017

Sipping my cup of tea reading a promotional feature article called ‘Raising the standards of Australian Welding” in a very popular Australian magazine I come across a sentence that raises my eyebrows… “there has been a significant downturn in the amount of welding that goes on in Australia”… well not in our company! We always have a very consistent work flow and thrive off being busy. Welding standards in the aviation industry are complex and non-forgiving and here at AWS we are proud of providing a high standard of work across our team and happy to know that we are providing our customers with a safe job well done without the use of robotic technology.  We are gloves on and our welding helmet covers down for a personal hands on work practice to perfect your job.

SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Happy September 5th.  We have been busy here at AWS! Lots of changes, lots of welding and lots of new customers keeping us busy. Also some exciting new admin changes coming too. We will keep you updated as we go.

The wait is over!
These are Shroud End Supports. They suit PA28 & PA28R. You no longer have to pay the full cost of a complete shroud and shroud end supports when you only need the Shroud End Supports to be replaced.
Aerospace Welding Services have APMA approval from CASA to manufacture these highly sought after items, which means not only are you getting a reasonably priced item, you will also be issued with a release note.
* This picture shows a ‘double’ Shroud End support We can also manufacture a ‘triple’ Shroud End support that suits a PA32*.

Holidays are over, we’re all back at the workshop and feeling refreshed and ready for 2017. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.

November 29th, 2016.

We’re finally in our new office! We started to need our old office space for delivery and packaging of orders (yep we are busy busy this time of year) so a new modern office was built and we couldn’t be happier to be utilizing such an awesome fresh new workspace.

They say change is a s good as a holiday right!?!?
